Blackout Boutique is a pop-up store created to raise awareness about the harmful impact of fast fashion.
Upon arriving at the store, visitors encounter several elements that highlight this issue. Each clothing item is assigned a climate score, there is a "tip" that underscores how poorly garment workers are paid, and at checkout, additional costs are added to reflect environmental damage and the exploitation of factory workers.

Note: the flowchart is in Dutch
Phase 1:
The person encounters a flyer or sticker in the city with a QR code. This leads them to the Blackout Boutique Instagram page, or they are approached to participate in a TikTok challenge asking where their outfit comes from.
If it turns out to be fast fashion, the presenter points them toward a fast fashion pop-up store by handing them a flyer.
Phase 2:
Upon arrival at the location, they browse through the clothing and notice that each item has a label with a “nutrition score” indicating how harmful or sustainable it is.
Phase 3:
At the counter, they see a tip jar labeled for the children who made the clothes (symbolically represented).
Phase 4:
At checkout, the cashier reveals the final price, which is significantly higher due to added fees for environmental damage and worker exploitation.
